2025-26 Jeremiah Bible Study

Meet Our Leadership Team

Kay Lester - Teaching Leader

I have been a Precept student for more than 30 years and have led Precept classes for over 20 years. I attended my first class in Dallas TX after giving my life to Christ in 1986. God allowed me to attend and graduate from Fuller Seminary in 2001 and return to Precept Ministries to lead and facilitate Bible Study classes.

I love the Precept method of study because I find there is better recall than with other Bible studies and it is more in-depth. The study is based solely on the Bible and not on Commentary. I especially enjoy watching God’s Word transform women’s lives. We have seen that over and over in both our Tuesday and Wednesday classes. God led us to develop a prayer ministry around our study. We believe this is why the attendees in the zoom class have gotten so close with one another.

I would be remiss if I did not mention that we have one of the best leadership teams any Bible Study could have. Our teaching leadership teams as well as the women who volunteer to help lead this class administratively, prayerfully and technically are all exceptional. Each week we get to see the body of Christ working together to make this ministry run so efficiently. I love them all.

Tuesday's Team:

Alicia Whitworth

I gave my life to Christ in 2017 and joined this Precept class the following year, 2018.

I currently have the great honor of serving as one of the Co-Leaders for our  class.  This is the only Bible study I have ever been a part of and it has been such a blessing.

I've enjoyed every minute spent studying and learning alongside this amazing group of women who have become some of my dearest friends.  I love that we are able to come together to learn, grow and encourage one another in our faith.  We are truly sisters-in-Christ and I am blessed beyond measure to be a part of such a special sisterhood. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."

Teaching Co-Leader

Elizabeth 'Liz' Nicoleti

I met Kay when she was in Brazil with Kay Arthur in 2018. She invited me to the Romans class, and I’ve been here ever since. I love studying inductively and helping others discover truth in the Word of God for themselves.

This class gives me the opportunity to meet and grow alongside other American women, even though I live and work in Brazil.

I was invited to class by a current Precept attendee. I started September 2018. The in depth study of scripture by repetitive reading of a chapter and marking words from the chapters that stand out and are used frequently.

Something that I didn't do at first or thought I would but I have grown to appreciate the marking of words. I feel i

t really makes things pop out for me. The community of sisters in Christ I get to share "life" with are so supportive and loving. Iron sharpening iron.

Wednesday's Team:

Pam Uhr-McElroy

I was invited to join a Precept class to study John in 2023 by my friend and neighbor Nazee Sage. It was my first “serious” Bible study and I immediately loved it. I. I love the inductive study method and I look forward to my study times each morning when I go deeper and deeper into

God’s Word.

I have so enjoyed my time with the other ladies in the course and the prayers and communication that continues outside of class. The Precept study and the special women in the class have truly been a blessing and have changed my life in such a beautiful way and I will forever be grateful to the Lord for opening this door.

Teaching Co-Leader

Elizabeth Gottfried

I came to Precept because my dear friend Leona Romar invited me to join, and I jumped into this class for the Amos study in March 2021.

I love the inductive study method and digging deeply into God's Word. It did take getting used to marking up my Bible with colored pencils! I appreciate the sharpening we get as we learn together, and I am so thankful for the fellowship with and prayers of these precious sisters!

Teaching Co-Leader

Mary Alford

I gave my life to Christ when I was 18 years old. I have been doing Precepts Bible Studies since before I was married, which was over 40 years ago. I joined this Precept class in 2020. It has been a privilege to serve as the Wednesday Class Prayer Chair. We must study and know God's Word in order to remain close to Him. We must also have a dedicated Prayer Life in order to Hear His lead and Obey, both are vital to our growth. Working with and getting to know the ladies in our classes, has give me a safe place for fellowship. I feel supported and uplifted by them.

God is Very Good

I came to Precept in 2017 when we studied the books of 1 & 2 Corinthians.  I enjoyed the study so much that I have stuck with the Inductive Study method ever since. I love how we dig deep into the word of God to discover His truths for our

own lives.

It helps me understand how God wants me to live my own life, through the instruction and guidance that His word reveals through this in-depth study. You I was invited to class by a current Precept attendee. I started September 2018. The in depth study of scripture by repetitive reading of a chapter and marking words from the chapters that stand out and are used frequently.

I started my journey with Precepts in the midst of quite possibly the busiest season in my life back in 2021. My family and I were also transitioning from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Texas Hill Country.  But I was being drawn from above, the only true explanation. So I decided to finally sign up. I can proudly and easily say that I have been hooked since.

I love it for so many reasons. The in-depth yet approachable dive into The Word of God, our teaching leader, the connections and new found friendships I have made with amazing sisters in Christ, as well the wisdom gained from all other participants. I simply love it and it has enriched my life in many ways.
